Bangladesh is importing onions from Pakistan after about a decade and a half.
Bangladesh government is going to bring onions from Pakistan after almost three years. For this, Roshan Enterprise of Bangladesh has signed a contract with a Pakistani company. An official of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) confirmed the news, The News International reported.
It is said that due to the ban on the export of Indian vegetables to the neighboring country, onion prices have risen in the local market of Bangladesh. The official said at least 12 container onions will go to Bangladesh.Then there will be more exports. The report also says that Bangladesh imports between 1 million to 1 million tonnes of onion every year. 5 percent of it goes to India.
