Once again, the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world, have protected Bangladesh by getting a book from the devastating cyclone. 'Bulbul' has caused huge damage to the Sundarbans. Forest department camps, wooden pontoons, jetties, walkways were damaged.
Tourism will be closed for three days to clean the damaged Sundarbans, which are 'abrupt' from 26 to 26 November, to enter the Sundarbans in the interest of speeding the loss of animals and biodiversity under the influence of cyclone bulbs. Khulna Wrench Forest Conservation Officer Mainuddin Khan confirmed the matter on Monday.
Khulna Forest Conservator of Forests, Moin Uddin Khan, said that the joint meeting of the Sundarbans Tour Operators Association and the Forest Department has lifted all restrictions on tourists entering Sundarbans. He said the Sundarbans were also affected by the cyclone bulb.
Some camps, wood pontoons, jetties, walkways were damaged in the cyclone. Due to which, the forest department on Monday (November 11 ) announced the closure of tourists in the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world. But now, due to the tourist season of the Sundarbans, the tour operators will suffer losses if the entrance to the forest is closed and the country will also lose revenue. As a result, the Tour Operators Association demanded that the tourists be banned from entering Sundarbans. Due to that demand, the forest department has lifted all restrictions on tourists entering Sundarbans.
Besides, officials of the camps of the forest department have started work on Monday to assess the loss of the forest.
